December Retreat 2018: A Photo Essay
Each year, ACE teachers gather in Mable Falls, Texas, for our annual December Retreat. December Retreat serves as a weekend of rest, reunion, prayer, and celebration. This year’s December Retreat theme, “Disciples with Hope to Bring”, draws from the Constitutions of the Congregation of Holy Cross.
Throughout the retreat, each ACE teacher spends time in reflection with their cohort and with their respective ACE community. Here, the ACE 24 and ACE 25 members of the Fort Worth community enjoy the first moments of December Retreat.
ACE teachers look forward to being with each other and relaxing after the months of first or second year teaching. In this moment, ACE 24’s Eric Adjei-Danquah teaches high school science and coaches the soccer team at Cristo Rey Atlanta.
The ACE community spends time in prayer as ACE Chaplain Fr. Joe Carey, CSC, leads the ACErs in a Reconciliation service.
Second-year ACE teachers spend much of their retreat focusing on their post-ACE discernment. The retreat provides ACE teachers with many opportunities to connect with ACE faculty and staff who can help guide them in this process.
Lessons and Carols is a December Retreat tradition where the ACE community joyfully shares in scripture and song. The time together highlights our story of our faith; the carols remind us of the hope in the season of Advent.
The ACE Indianapolis community shares their Christmas spirit at the annual Christmas Party.
