Ryan Hinton: Called to Serve

For 27 years, students have applied to ACE’s Teaching Fellows program from the comfort of their dorm rooms or the solitude of a campus library. Few have felt the call to become an ACE teacher while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, but that is exactly where Ryan Hinton found himself in July of 2003.

2019 Michael Pressley Award for Excellence in Catholic Education: Elias Moo

On Saturday, July 13th Elias Moo received the 2019 Michael Pressley Award for Excellence in Catholic Education at the Alliance for Catholic Education’s commencement ceremony. The award is given annually to two graduates of the ACE Teaching Fellows program who have distinguished themselves by making significant contributions to the ministry of Catholic education; Maura Shea also won the award this year. 

Moo was given the award for his service to Catholic schools – first as a teacher, then as a principal, and now as the Superintendent of Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Denver. In honor of Moo’s award, we are rerunning a story about Moo written last year after he was named superintendent.

Steve Camilleri to speak at ACE Commencement ceremony

Steve Camilleri, the executive director of the Center for the Homeless in South Bend, Indiana, and a member of the first class of ACE teachers, will serve as the keynote speaker at the 2019 Commencement Ceremony of the University of Notre Dame’s Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE) on Saturday (July 13).

"Live Nun Talking!": Sr. Helen Prejean, C.S.J. Visits Notre Dame

On Tuesday, July 2, the Alliance for Catholic Education welcomed Sr. Helen Prejean, C.S.J., to Notre Dame's campus. After spending some time with the ACE Teaching Fellows and Remick Leaders, Sr. Helen addressed the ACE community and concluded her visit with daily Mass in the Dillon Hall Chapel.
