Catholic School Enrollment: School Choice at St. Petersburg Catholic High School
Purpose Statement:
The purpose of this action research project was to ascertain the reasons why those students who attended SPCHS’s primary constituent schools for eighth grade during the 2011-2012 school year did not matriculate to St. Petersburg Catholic High School.
Research Questions:
- What reasons do parents provide for choosing Catholic schools during the elementary years of their children’s education?
- What reasons do parents provide for enrolling their students in a secondary school other than St. Petersburg Catholic High School, and what reasons do parents provide for not enrolling their students at St. Petersburg Catholic High School?
