Improving Reading Achievement for More Readers: Impact of Tier III Reading Interventions for Tier I and II Readers
Purpose Statement:
The purpose of this action research project was to improve reading growth of students who scored at or below the 38th percentile nationally on standardized reading tests in second through fourth grade.
Research Questions:
1. For students who are at or below the 38th percentile nationally, does small group instruction and one on one tutoring impact student reading scores?
2. For students who are at or below the 38th percentile nationally, does small group instruction and one on one tutoring impact attitudes toward reading?
3. Do students use reading strategies learned during small group instruction and one on one tutoring outside of the intervention time?
