Teacher Observations and a Culture of Professionalism
Purpose Statement:
The purpose of this action research was twofold: to investigate the current culture of teacher observation and evaluation at Boylan Catholic High School, and to work collaboratively with all department chairs to modify an existing diocesan observation tool.
Research Questions:
1.To what degree did consistent observation affect teachers’ perceptions of observations and evaluations?
2.To what extent did allowing department chairs to provide feedback on the existing diocesan form affect the perceptions of their role as school leaders?
3.What are the faculty perceptions about observation and evaluation?
