The Effects of an Advisory Program for At-Risk First Year High School Students
Purpose Statement:
To evaluate the process, implementation, and impact of a newly structured advisory system on conditionally accepted students in ninth grade.
Research Questions:
What are the greatest academic needs of conditionally accepted students? What are the greatest organizational needs of conditionally accepted students? What is the best method for tracking the progress of conditionally accepted students and at what times is it essential to intervene due to lack of progress? How can the school collaborate with parents to ensure a successful school-to-home strategy for academic improvement?
