Implementing Differentiated Instruction in Elementary Reading at Saint Mary Star of the Sea School

Purpose Statement:

The purpose of this study was to examine the challenges and rewards of formally implementing DI in the area of reading in grades 1 through 5 at SMSSS.

Research Questions:

Do the teachers in grades 1 through 5 understand and accept the diocesan mandate to implement DI? Is there a statistically significant increase in students’ reading comprehension scores in these grades when comparing pre-, mid-, and post-DI assessments?
