English as a New Language Program

The ENL Hernandez Fellows is a one-year, 18 credit hour program designed for busy teachers seeking to support English language learners in Catholic schools. ENL Hernandez Fellows develop expertise in language acquisition, research-based instructional strategies, and culturally sustaining pedagogy and serve as advocates for linguistically diverse students in Catholic schools.

Program for Inclusive Education

Program for Inclusive Education

The Program for Inclusive Education (PIE) includes an 18-credit hour, 4-semester blended learning experience that combines online and on-campus instruction. The Summer I, Fall, and Spring semesters utilize an innovative, online platform for course instruction while participants grow professionally and form a cohesive cohort community. Summer II provides participants a 2-week capstone experience led by national experts on the campus of the University of Notre Dame.

Reform Leaders' Summit

Reform Leaders' Summit

The Reform Leaders Summit aims to equip leaders with the skills and abilities needed to support parental rights and equity in education. Each year, we select a cohort of 30-35 talented leaders who engage in a program consisting of 3 seminars over the course of 11 months. These seminars are facilitated by a team of moderators including policy makers, school (and school system) leaders, researchers, education entrepreneurs, and funders.

AP+ACE

AP+ACE

The University of Notre Dame Center for STEM Education Advanced Placement Teacher Investment Program (AP-TIP) is partnering with the Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE) to provide a new, high quality teacher professional growth opportunity to Catholic high school teachers around the U.S.: AP+ACE.

AP+ACE is designed to support teachers of AP math, science, or English (MSE) courses in Catholic high schools where at least one member of the team is an ACE graduate or where school leadership has strong ties to the Institute for Educational Initiatives.

ACE in Chile (ChACE)

ACE in Chile (ChACE)

The 18-month immersive program provides “ChACErs” with the opportunity to teach and live internationally, while enhancing their capacities as leaders and educators. ChACE teachers spend one full academic year teaching English as a foreign language at Saint George’s College in Chile’s capital city. Prior to their arrival in Santiago, these teachers participate in an intensive 6-week Spanish language program in Quito, Ecuador.

Trustey Family STEM Teaching Fellows

Trustey Family STEM Teaching Fellows

The Trustey Fellows is a fully-funded, prestigious program with an annual stipend that seeks to foster continuous improvement in STEM teaching and learning. Sponsored by the Notre Dame Center for STEM Education, the program includes three, two-week summer institutes on campus at the University of Notre Dame and two academic years of instructional coaching and the facilitation of a school-wide STEM Impact Plan.

Frassati Internship

Frassati Internship

The Frassati Internship provides Notre Dame undergraduates the opportunity to work in national philanthropic foundations and organizations that support Catholic education. As Frassati Interns, Notre Dame students will apply and hone the skills they have begun to develop in their coursework in service to organizations impacting education. Through the experience, Interns receive mentorship from senior executives, a competitive summer salary, and several seminars in the semesters pre-departure and post-internship.

Latino Enrollment Institute

Latino Enrollment Institute

The Latino Enrollment Institute (LEI) provides school principals, administrators, teachers, and pastors with marketing strategies and school culture interventions to help Catholic schools attract and serve Latino families in their local community. This year-long program begins with a four-day summer conference at Notre Dame, followed by ongoing consultation and follow-up from an LEI coach, as well as monthly guided discussions with a cohort of principals in the program.

Adelante

Adelante builds on the success of the Latino Enrollment Institute (LEI), which for nine years has been an exceptionally effective engine of Latino enrollment growth in Catholic schools around the country. While the LEI’s explicit focus on school-level change necessitates the commitment of school teams, Adelante offers an alternative, which is open to a variety of constituents. Latino Educator and Administrator Development Program

The Latino Educator and Administrator Development (LEAD) program, a collaboration between ACE and NCEA, is the newest initiative from the Catholic School Advantage. LEAD aims to strengthen the Latino voice in both the classroom and school level by inviting, advancing, and retaining Latino educators in Catholic schools and fostering a better understanding of the opportunities and challenges that exist in this landscape.

School Pastors' Institute

School Pastors' Institute

The School Pastors' Institute is a leadership formation symposium for pastors of Catholic schools, designed to respond to the unique and increasingly complex challenges and opportunities related to serving as a pastor of a parish school. This four-day, three-night conference at Notre Dame freatures a keynote address from a bishop, followed by a series of workshops focused on topics related to transformative school leadership. Registration for Summer 2018 is now open.
