Harrisburg, PAWhat do you hope to do/accomplish as an ACE Teacher?
I am really excited to move some place new and live in community with my fellow ACE teachers; I hope to thrive as I am pushed outside of my comfort zone. All-in-all, I want to build a classroom environment where my students feel empowered, excited, and inspired to pursue their goals of "college and heaven"!
What experiences at your undergraduate institution helped shape your decision to pursue teaching as a possible vocation?
I first learned of the ACE program through the gracious mentorship of Dr. Brian Collier, Director of the American Indian Catholic Schools' Network (AICSN). My experience as his student challenged me to think about the intersection of education and racial justice, specifically in Native American communities. My decision to pursue ACE is motivated by the desire to reach young minds and work together to build a more diverse, inclusive, and compassionate future generation of leaders.
How do you hope to grow in your experience as an ACE Ambassador/Intern?
As an ACE intern, I want to grow in fellowship with my cohort and allow the three pillars of teaching, community, and spirituality to shape my senior year at ND. I can't wait to spread the word about ACE around campus!
