Remick Leader Matthew Daniels Leads Diocese of Toledo Catholic Schools

Today, Matthew Daniels, a graduate of the Mary Ann Remick Leadership Program and longtime Catholic school principal, begins his new position as the senior director of Catholic education for the Diocese of Toledo in Ohio.

How did Remick Leadership Program graduate Emmy Pusateri Robison go from saying, “I didn’t know if I felt that teaching was serving God. I thought teaching should be about serving kids” to “I found what it really means to be Catholic and to love and serve God through loving and serving others"? This transformation of spirit was only possible through what Robison describes as the “perfect storm.”

Elizabeth Charles Music to My Ears

Driving home from school after our first choir practice of the year, I called my mom to tell her how wonderfully it had gone, thrilled that our first practice had been a success. I bragged that I now had 40 students in choir, that they’d already sounded great on the first day, and that I was already looking at choir t-shirt designs when my mom interrupted.

“You know,” she said, almost laughing, “high school you would really be shocked to hear this right now. Appalled almost.”
