Second-year graduate students at the University of Notre Dame’s Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE) presented research on a wide range of educational topics at the ACE Teaching Fellows Conference on Tuesday, July 18. The conference schedule offered an array of 23 presentations delivered at DeBartolo Hall over four sessions.

To an outsider, rugby may come off as a hostile sport. Even those who have not seen a game can imagine the intensity of a sport that uses terms such as “charge-down,” “crusher tackle,” and “blood bin.” And while a match might induce some scrapes and bruises, for Daniel Hodge, the former captain of Gonzaga University Men’s Rugby Club, the spirit of rugby is one of hospitality, generosity, and seeing past opponents’ differences. In fact, the kindness present in the rugby community is something Daniel, ACE 24, hopes to foster in his classroom next year.

AmeriCorps Notre Dame Partners

The President’s recently proposed budget includes a small amount of money to support the shutdown of the Corporation for National and Community Service, the agency that runs AmeriCorps, in anticipation of ending the program the following year. As you will read below, ACE has been a member of AmeriCorps for more than 20 years. If you support the AmeriCorps service program, please consider contacting your elected representatives and asking for their support to continue the program.
