St. Joseph's Indian School COC Best Nonprofit Award

In 2020, St. Joseph's Indian School—a member of the American Indian Catholic Schools Network (AICSN) demonstrated what it means to be St. Joe Strong to its employees, our community and our state. When it would have been easy to take a "sit tight and see what happens" approach to the pandemic, the organization exercised foresight in every measure. For that, the school was recognized as Best Nonprofit by the Chamberlain-Oacoma Area Chamber of Commerce at an awards gala on Saturday, February 6, 2021.

In loving memory, my mentor teacher

on Thursday, 04 February 2021.

In Memory of Rachel MorenoIt is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Dr. Rachel Moreno—our beloved colleague who supervised hundreds of ACE teachers over the years and also worked with the English as a New Language program—after a bout with pancreatic cancer.

She was a dear friend to many and has always been a model of Christian love and care for others. Rachel spent her life teaching, caring, and whole-heartedly loving others, and we were all blessed by her example.

The following piece was written by Danielle M. Gonzales—a member of ACE 8 who served in Brownsville, Texas—and was originally posted on Medium.com.
