What do you hope to do/accomplish as an ACE Teacher?

I hope to grow alongside my students, bettering ourselves academically, emotionally, and spiritually. I hope to do this by creating a welcoming and inclusive environment in my classroom which will promote learning and creativity.

What experiences at your undergraduate institution helped shape your decision to pursue teaching as a possible vocation?

I participated in an SSLP the summer after my freshman year in which I taught 2nd grade at a school in Park City, UT. It was my first time teaching and, as challenging as it was, it was the most transformative experience of my time at Notre Dame. It then led me to pursue similar activities on campus, like tutoring local 3rd graders in math and mentoring a buddy for College Mentors for Kids.

How do you hope to grow in your experience as an ACE Ambassador/Intern?

During my time as an ACE Intern, I hope to better prepare for my time in my own classroom, both by getting to know the ACE team better and by speaking with and encouraging other students to look into ACE as a way to continue to embrace the pillars of Notre Dame after graduation.
