ACE in the Community
Through its formation programs and other initiatives, the Alliance for Catholic Education has been privileged to contribute substantially to the leadership ranks in the Catholic school system of Indianapolis. No fewer than 15 graduates of ACE’s Mary Ann Remick Leadership Program, which prepares teachers to be principals and leaders in Catholic schools, and 36 total ACE graduates currently serve in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.
Catholic school educators from Indianapolis who have completed ACE’s licensure programs in English as a New Language (ENL) and Teaching Exceptional Children (TEC) also have returned to their classrooms in the city, prepared to help make their schools more inclusionary for a diverse student body. ACE Advocates for Catholic Schools, a network of alumni from ACE programs, is represented by a regional group based in Indianapolis. ACE Consulting also conducts projects of research and service at the request of Archbishop Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R.
Over the years, ACE has had a heavy presence in the Catholic school community, hosting various events at St. Matthew School, Holy Name School, St. Christopher School and Our Lady of Lourdes School to promote the mission of Catholic education within the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.

Award Recipients
The University of Notre Dame Sorin Award for Service to Catholic Schools
Annette "Mickey" Lentz, Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, has dedicated over 50 years of her life to education in the archdiocese as teacher, principal and administrator in the Office of Catholic Education and has helped Indianapolis to earn more Blue Ribbons for Excellence from the U.S. Department of Education than any other diocese in the country. During her tenure as chancellor, Lentz has pioneered partnerships with institutions of higher education to assist diocesan teachers in earning advanced degrees and in obtaining exemplary professional development opportunities. Under her direction, the Archdiocese of Indianapolis works closely with the National Catholic Educational Association to share with and learn from other leaders in American Catholic education to foster a community of excellence in their mission to children and to God.
The University of Notre Dame Champion for Education Award
Former chairmen of Klipsch Group, Inc., Fred and Judy Klipsch are active philanthropists with an abiding interest in equal access to educational excellence for all children. They are at the forefront of the school choice movement in Indiana, with Fred currently serving as chairman of School Choice Indiana, Hoosiers for Economic Growth, Educational CHOICE Charitable Trust and Education Committee for the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. School Choice Indiana and CHOICE Charitable Trust both provide scholarship grants and vouchers to students of lower-income families enabling them to attend private or parochial school of their choice, thus allowing many students of the archdiocese access to a quality education in the Catholic tradition. Through their tremendous efforts, Indianapolis is now a leader and an example of success of the school choice movement in America.
